Hi Noah! This topic is beginning to sound like an AA meeting.

Hi, my name is Jim or Scott and I too started out at Garden Web. I am still recovering. ;)

LOL Well there are other people living up here ... I'm not all alone in my igloo ;)
Just no one else seems to have an addiction to CP's.. yet.. I'm converting them... I brought two to the "carnivorous side" just this week! :D
Anyways, glad to be the token Alaskan hehe Nice board you guys have here. I'll be sure to check back often

Hey
My name is Jason and I'm new to this group. I just stumbled across this group the other night when looking up CP info. I'm really excited about this society idea you're putting together. Have you all had any meetings yet?

Unfortanitly not.

Welcome to the forums.
I was thinking of e-mailing you and asking what, and how long you have been growing CP's.
Your not too far from jimscott and myself.

That's great that I'm not too far from some of you. That would be great if you end up meeting somewhere not to far from here. I also have a friend who is interested in getting involved if you do get a meeting going.

I have not been seriously growing CPs for real long. I found my fascination with them when I was about 10 years old or so and made several attempts at growing them through my teens. About 5 years ago my dad bought me a Nepenthes, which really got me going on CPs. I currently have some flytraps, a Nepenthes (N. alata?) and a bunch of small ones I grew from cuttings, S. flava, S. leucophylla, S. purpurea, and some sundews. Unfortunately my life as a college student has limited my ability to expand my collection. Hopefully some day I'll have more room and resources.

Any plans on getting together some time after the holidays? Maybe satisfy that mid winter itch?

Cheers.

Jim,
That sounds like a good idea.
There are a few growers in the area that we have small get togethers at my house once in a while. I can let you know if you want to come by.
